The Hot Mess Line
Keep a date lit
Pick a date that means something. $100 a month helps keep the line answered, and that date carries the name you choose: yours, your business, or somebody you are remembering.
a lit date has a sponsor. All thirty-one are currently open.
Tap your date above and it travels with you to checkout, where you confirm it. Take more than one if you want more than one. Stop whenever you like; it ends at the next renewal. Sponsors are thanked by name. This is support, not an ad buy.
Two jobs. Same phone.
Founders build it. Dates keep it lit.
Founding sponsors help get the line open. Date sponsors help keep it operating month after month.
We’ll open once we have enough Spotters, the routing tested, the handoffs ready, insurance in place, and enough money to cover the first stretch.
Before the phone rings
What has to be ready
- A Spotter bench we can actually scheduleEnough people, with honest hours, that we do not promise coverage we cannot hold.
- Orientation + written operating boundariesThe ten-minute container, privacy, scope, and what a Spotter does when the call belongs somewhere else.
- A handoff mapClear resources for situations that need more than Hot Mess can offer.
- Routing tested before callers depend on itThe number, schedules, handoffs between Spotters, and the boring technical pieces.
- Insurance + basic operating coverageThe infrastructure around the people answering, not just the phone itself.
- Enough founding support to cover opening costsSo the first call does not arrive before the service underneath it exists.
What the money does
- The phone number and routing software
- Spotter recruitment, orientation, and handoff resources
- Insurance and basic operating costs
- Coordination as the bench grows
- Letting people know the line exists: green rooms, faire tents, backstage walls, earplug tables
Ten founding spots
The first ten founding sponsors help build the line before it opens and get a permanent place at the top of this page. Their support goes toward the Spotter bench, training resources, routing, insurance, and the other opening infrastructure above.
When the bench is ready and the opening costs are covered, the line opens.
Founding starts with a conversation. Say hello and Ryan will write back within a day.
If you are the one who needs the call rather than the one funding it, that is the front page.
